Terms of Use

Independent advice, no commissions, no lock-in. Here's what that means in practice, written so you can actually read it.

Last updated: September 17, 2026

The short version

Three commitments

  • We give you advice, not a sales pitch — and we're paid by you, never by a vendor.
  • Recommendations are ours to make and yours to decide; nothing happens without you.
  • Where a signed agreement exists, that document governs the work — this page doesn't override it.

01 — Scope

What we do, and what we don't

01

We advise

We research your options, map your workflows, benchmark your spend, and put recommendations in front of you with the reasoning attached. That's the product.

02

You decide

Every recommendation is yours to accept, modify or reject. We don't buy, commit or sign anything on your behalf unless you've put that in writing.

03

We don't resell

We don't sell licenses, take commissions, or hold reseller agreements that would make a particular vendor's success our success. Our only client in the room is you.

02 — Your side

What we ask of you

Good advice depends on good inputs. None of this is unusual — it's just what we need to be useful.

  • 01Give us accurate information about your current contracts, usage and requirements — advice built on wrong inputs is worth what it cost
  • 02Tell us who's authorized to speak for your organization, and loop them in early
  • 03Flag any confidentiality, procurement or compliance rules we need to work within
  • 04Let us know promptly if your plans change, so we're not chasing a target that's moved
  • 05Keep your account credentials and systems to yourselves — we ask for access only when it's needed and documented

03 — Fees

How the money works

No commissions, no kickbacks

We accept nothing of value from technology providers in connection with work we do for you. If a provider offers us something, we decline it and tell you.

Our fees

Where a piece of work is billable, the fee, scope and timing are agreed in writing before it starts. No surprise line items, no retroactive charges.

Savings aren't guaranteed

We're direct about what we think is achievable and why. Outcomes depend on your contracts, your usage and your decisions, so we won't promise a number.

Third-party pricing

Quotes and pricing come from the providers themselves and are theirs to honor. We help you read the fine print; we can't be responsible for their terms.

04 — Liability

The necessary legal part

Nobody enjoys this section. It's short, and it doesn't change anything about how we behave — it just states the boundary of our responsibility.

As-is

This site and our public materials are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including that everything here is current, complete or error-free.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Model 3 Consulting isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of this site or from advice given outside a written engagement.

Where the contract wins

If we're engaged formally, the signed agreement between us governs the work — including fees, confidentiality, liability and termination — and takes precedence over this page.

05 — General

Everything else

Confidentiality

What you share with us stays with us. We're happy to sign your NDA, and we'll ask for one where a provider's pricing requires it.

Our materials

The decks, models and analyses we produce for you are yours to use internally for the project they were made for. Please don't redistribute them as your own work.

Your data and marks

Your information, logos and documents stay yours. We use them only to do the work, and we don't put your name on marketing without asking.

Website use

This site is for information. Please don't scrape it, interfere with it, or use it in a way that puts it or other visitors at risk.

No professional relationship yet

Reading this site or emailing us doesn't make us your advisor. That begins when we both agree to an engagement.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Terms governing a specific engagement, once signed, stay as written.
